4 Makeup Trends you need to know

Thesame way clothing and accessories have trends each season, so does makeup have trends too. New makeup trends emerge and are seen on runway models. They are quite easy to achieve and they can make it into your makeup routine all thanks to Youtube.

Highlighting

Highlighting is applying and blending foundation, concealer that is two shades lighter than your skin under your eyes, the bridge of your nose and the center of your forehead then set it with a setting powder that is two shades lighter also so that it doesn't crease up on you.

Contouring

Contouring gives an illusion of a slimmer face and higher cheekbones which everybody loves. You can use a powder, foundation or concealer that is two shades darker. Apply and blend it on both sides of your nose, below your cheekbones(using your ear as a guide), and the center of your forehead and set it with a powder that's two shades darker and then blush on those cheeks.

Strobing

Strobing is creating intense glow by highlighting using a highlighter on your cheekbone, brow bone, bridge of your nose, Cupid bow, above the brow. Use a cream base first on those areas so that it holds the highlighter in place just like a shadow base would do for an eyeshadow. Apply the highlighter on the areas mentioned above.
Note: your highlighter should match your skin. I've used highlighters that are light and since I'm a woman of colour, it made me look like a clown.

Baking

This is also one of the latest makeup trends. Baking doesn't mean that you put your face in an oven o! LOL. It means letting your powder sit on your face for some minutes before you dust it off.
Here's how to: start by applying a moisturizer under your eyes because that's the area you're baking and the moisture will let your powder sink it before you dust it. Apply a thick layer of concealer under your eyes and set it with a setting powder then allow your makeup to bake( leave for 5-10 mins) then brush off the powder using a fluffy brush and you're BAKED! Easy right?

Which trend do you love the most? I'd love to hear from you.
